How To Network Like A Boss
This is day 7 of the branding challenge.
Networking is the lifeblood of sales. Entrepreneurs must spend time rubbing elbows with people and building relationships. But their is an age old question… “should you know more people or have deeper relationships with fewer people?”
I say in my best Tony Stark impersonation “Why not both?”
The more relationships and friendships you have the more business you can make. Additionally the deeper relationships with the right people allow you to land those big deals that make your business.
Here is how to do it
Step one, plan some time in your day to set aside and network. I recommend starting with your hour lunch break. Set up meetings during your lunch, especially a virtual meeting. Eating and networking is an age old technique but an effective one.
Step two, use tools like Calendly and Skype to create an efficient system. Calendly is a free program that allows you to schedule time slots and sync calendars with your prospective networkers. Skype is a free tool that allows you to make free video calls.
Step three, have a lose guideline to your meeting purpose. It is a well known fact that a meeting planned for 1 hour will have 30-50mins of wasted time. This can be beneficial if your sole purpose is to spend time building rapport with someone. However, if you are looking to create business, skip the chit chat and plan 15-30minute meetings instead. This will allow you to focus on what really matters.
Give it a try
How I use this system. I personally set up 30 minute meetings that allow me to connect with new individuals. usually I spend my time giving away some free advice and help. This allows me to build stronger relationships while building brand equity. Hit me up and lets chat >> https://calendly.com/austiniuliano
