6 Snapchat Apps to Master the Hottest Social Media this Year
Snapchat is a very hot social media right now. SXSW dubbed it the app, the “hottest of 2016” and it is just getting hotter as we speak. The tricky part with any social media is we need the right tools to create the most engaging content.
Here are the Top 6 Snapchat apps to master the hottest social media of SXSW.
Slinger is a new app that allows you to save vertical videos. What makes Slinger unique is that it also has a small social media integrated into the platform.
You can gain followers, and follow your favorite users. Everyone can vote on their favorite videos giving hearts to each one. If you gain enough votes you can even make it to the popular, rising, or new section to gain more followers.
Snapchat’s first and only true discovery mechanism (though not created by Snapchat!).
When you sign up to Ghostcodes you have the ability to create a unique profile. Upload your QR code, pick your category, and interest. Once you are signed up, Ghostcodes becomes a “leaderboard” of sorts.
Everyone has the ability to give hearts to their favorite Snapchatter and the more hearts you have, the higher in the leaderboard you go. Check it out and find me under the Storytellers section or search for “austiniuliano.” If you give me a heart I will be super appreciative!
Video trim & cut is a lightweight video editing app to trim down your Snapchat videos.
Let’s be honest, when you download your Snapchat videos sometimes there is older content at the beginning of your story, stuff you don’t need at the end. This awesome app let’s you cut off the extra unnecessary video quickly. With a few taps of your finger, your awesome Snapchat story is ready to be uploaded to Slinger.
Splice is a lightweight video editing app to splice together Snapchat story clips. When you do a collaboration with another Snapchat user, sometimes the whole story isn’t neatly on one user’s account.
When two stories need to be stacked together to make a cohesive story, Splice is here to the rescue.
It’s an intuitive app that allows you to quickly piece together multiple video clips, add transitions, and even music if needed.
Save all your Snapchat videos to the cloud using Dropbox. Keeping lots of video footage on your phone eats up space. I mean a lot of space.
When you are done cutting, splicing, and uploading your stories to Slinger, Youtube, Vine, Instagram, and Facebook, make sure to save them to Dropbox. You never know when you might need that footage again for a project.
#6 Musi, Spotify, or Soundcloud
Play music in the background of your Snapchat stories with any of these music apps on your phone. Snapchat is very creative platform and these apps make it easy to get music in the background of your stories. Simply, you play the music from the app while filming.
Pick your favorite music player, grab your song and hit play.
Jump over to Snapchat and film away. Personally, I prefer Musi because it pulls all Youtube videos, allowing me to get extra sound effects and all the music I want at no cost to me.
Have any more apps you think I should add to this list? Let us know in the comments!
